Hello Everbody,
Alsager has never been involved in any activities outside of the NSDCA league. I would like to change this, and I am looking something that will engage our club members over this summer period.
I would like to set up a new competition played over 10 weeks commencing in a few weeks time and involving up to four clubs in an all-play all 4 or 5 person team - say U140 or U150. (We can agree between us the best format)
Alsager would donate the shield - to be held by the winners and handed back at the end of each season.
I appreciate this will take some organising, and I would be happy to take on the administration myself.
Could I have your thoughts please- the four clubs represented here are Macclesfield, Alsager, Kidsgrove and Holmes Chapel.
I think it would be appropriate to call the competition 'The South Cheshire Shield'
Best Regards,
Alan Thomason,
Chairman & Secretary, Alsager Chess Club.
